1000-1200 Sunday 27 October
Beginners - learn to roller ski course - book now
You'll learn the basics focusing on balance and co-ordination - how to glide using classic technique [diagonal stride] and double poling, uphill and downhill techniques, simple turns and how to stop, plus you'll learn about equipment. We'll also introduce you to skating technique on our longer course.
We teach classic technique on the first three sessions of the course then introduce skating. Classic technique is the most common form of cross country skiing. If you go to a cross country skiing area you’ll always find classic tracks but not always those prepared for skating technique.
Your goal will be Snowsport England [SSE] 1 star proficiency - you should easily achieve this on this course and be on your way to the next level. If you register for Snowsport England Proficiency Awards [cost: £5.00] you can also be assessed for this scheme at the end of the course - ask your instructor for details.
You need to be a LRNSC member - please join here before booking a place on a course.

If you're a developing or competent roller skier who wants to refine, improve or refresh your skills these sessions are for you. There'll be skating and classic sessions and the aim will be to get you skiing more confidently, faster and with less effort over varying terrain.
The focus wil be on developing the full range of techniques and progressively improving your skills using modern techniques. Your aim will be Snowsport England 2 or 3 star proficiency and if you register [or have registered already] for Snowsport England Proficiency Awards [cost: £5.00] you can also be assessed for this scheme - ask your instructor for more details.
Sessions will be run in skate or classic technique and you can choose which you want to attend. To save money you can book any 5 sessions and then confirm attendance on your chosen dates, or you can book single sessions. Limited numbers - Book now
